Construction of the Klerksdorp musjid commenced around 1973.
It is entered via a low arch into a central foyer. The foyer has views into the main mosque courtyard, but is separated by a fountain, which acts as a sound barrier between the noisy public foyer and the prayer spaces.
From the central foyer, one then either moves left through the ablution areas or right into the classroom courtyard
